While taking her first art class during her junior year of high school, Lexi fell in love with sketching and painting. She spent quarantine with a paintbrush in her hand and eventually ran out of canvases. This problem was solved by grabbing an old t-shirt and sketching out a gift from one of her friends, a picture of Nicolas Cage that hung on her wall. Lexi painted over the drawing and wore the new and improved tee to her best friends senior photoshoot. After explaining where the shirt came from, her friends photographer told her to make more because “someone would probably buy it.” Ever since that memorable day in August 2020, Lexi has found inspiration in nearly everything she can. Song lyrics, tv shows, food, stories from friends, etc. The name SketchDuds was officially born about a year later on September 28th, 2021. Eventually, hand-embroidery became the main form of SketchDuds designs while painting still plays a major part. SketchDuds became an official licensed business in the state of Nebraska on August 17th, 2022.
